SBA has a variety of free online classes and Podcasts for small business

I discovered the free Small Business Administration education site this morning and thought I’d pass along some thoughts, for those of you who are looking for helpful tips on starting a business or managing a small business.

I’ve participated and sampled a variety of the topics in the online classes and Podcasts that the SBA Site offers. Full of politically correct safe talk, as you might expect from the government. I found them to be very high quality production but lacking in inspiring content and motivated instructors.

These program by and large to look like they’re prepared in academia, which is known for dull boring content and lack inspiring instructors. I found myself asking “I’ll bet this college professor never spent an hour running his own business, therefore how can he really relate to the pain and agony that those of us who start small businesses must go through?”

I have found by and large they were pretty dry. The information was valuable, but basic.

If you’ve been through a small business 101 type classs you’ll find these pretty entry level. But they’re worth a listen and of course the price is right.
