Million Dollar Adsense Idea

I can’t believe it, another brilliant idea just flashed into my mind.

Last Sunday Barb and I found ourselves with a day to just hang out together. Typically we would have several events around town to choose from and we would have ended up at some art fair, car show or museum. But this Sunday we couldn’t seem to be able to find anything interesting going on around town.

We have a couple of regional monthly magazines that feature “whats happening” type of features and of course the local Sunday paper. So, we split up the research, Barb took the newspaper and I grabbed the magazines. It was hopeless trying to make sense of what we found. So we ended up hanging out in the Borders bookstore near us.

Had we?known of?a blog somewhere that we could have gone to,?that would have listed a constantly updated event calendar that was archived by date, genre, age group etc. we would have been there like a heat seeking missile. And most likely would have clicked on some ads.

Well, lo and behold, this morning I ran across this: Local Blogging. I am in so much psychological pain over the fact that I do not have time to get this done for the Twin Cities. Please, Please somebody take this million dollar idea and run with it.

I did a Google search on “Local event blog” and came up with almost nothing except this interesting Toronto site.

As an afterthought why not put up a list of classes being offered around town and sell advertising to all the local community educational organizations???? They are all right now scrambling for new online marketing?strategies.

Adding Pictures from a Digital Camera to a Web page

A participant from my class Teaching on the Internet asked this question today:

"I have a question - when you use a ditgital camera for pictures you want to put on a web site or in an email. How do you get them in a JPEG file? Or can? Do you need special software?"

In doing these assignments, I find pictures I have taken and want to use but am not sure how to get them in the right format. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

    Here was my reply:

Every digital camera comes with its own software to download and prepare pictures for the Internet, just follow the instructions in the manual that came with the camera.

You can also use a scanner to prepare you photos for the Internet.

Here are a couple of resources you can use that will grease the skids a bit.
